Weiner Wall is a film about a mural art project in housing and working building Tetterode Amsterdam consisting of 10 übermalungen (painting over). The project stems from a buddhist principle of appearing and disappearing, remembering and letting go.
The first artist working on the wall was the famous American conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner. His art stayed on the wall in the entrance hall for 20 years.
Since 2014 every few weeks a different artist makes an art piece on that same wall by covering the older work of the predecessor. Eight dutch artists have participated with nine works.
Rob Birza, Jan van der Ploeg, Sonia Rijnhout, Gracia Khouw, Sebastiaan Slichter, Hadassah Emmerich, Aafke Bennema, Erik Odijk.
Music plays an import role in the movie. Every piece of art has it’s own rhym and rhyth, colour and feel.
